What's Your Favourite Guitar/Amp Combo?

It was quite reasonable when I bought it. Guns and Roses hadn’t driven up the cost of Les Pauls yet.

I do remember that time in the mid/late '80's when you couldn't give a Les Paul away. Everybody wanted pointy guitars an superstrats. All my buddies thought I was such a dork for sticking with my Les Paul at the time, but I don't think a single one of them still owns their shredder axes.

Got a bunch of good deals back then (yeah, a relative statement as I was making less than a third of my current salary). Also got completely hosed on a couple of guitars that I needed to sell because I was desperate for cash.

I did get this for $300.00 and a used Ibanez. Made out quite well in the long run.

I can't remember what I paid for my black '88 Standard. I'm thinking about a grand? No discount for me since it had to be ordered.
