How do you use something like that?
That's pretty cool, but I've mounted so many pickups in my time I've got it down pat.
Funny this came up as just this past weekend I swapped pickups in the cheapy Donner H-H Tele I just got.
I had an unusually difficult time getting the screws started / wrestling the springs.
This was in a pick guard though, not mounting rings.
I once stained a very white Tusq nut with coffee. Fricking turned brown…I've stained bleached bone nuts with tea to darken them. I might try that next.

Never heard of this stuff, and had to research it. And I must say: DANG! That’s some gnarly stuff!!To age plastic or wood parts use Potassium Permanganate
That’s a good call. But I’m still kind of baffled that the Wolfetone cream colored bobbins turned out too white for you. The Wolfetone website pics of the cream bobbins are very creamy.I've pretty much decided against messing with the pickups. If it doesn't work as planned it may end up making it worse than it already is. I think I'm just going to sell them and buy a new double black set unless Wolfe can guaranty he can do actual cream coils for me after I explain my situation to him.
The pickup is resting on the moulding pieces so you don’t have to hold it steady. You can then use one hand to hold the spring and the other to start the screw threading with your palm on top of the pup.How do you use something like that?
I have a Meaner P90, killer pickup, but I like the SD custom P90 a little better.Never heard of this stuff, and had to research it. And I must say: DANG! That’s some gnarly stuff!!

On a side note, I like my Wolfetone pups a lot. Got a pair of their P90’s, Mean and Meaner. And two pairs of their humbuckers. Both pairs are the Dr Vintage and the Marshallhead… Good stuff!
Just don’t mix it with glycerin or sulfuric acid. For a fun trick, drop one piece in someone’s coffee. Preferably black, or they might notice. To age plastic or wood parts use Potassium Permanganate
Yeah I don't think it matters at all. I did that with one and I can't hear any difference whatsoever.I know what people say about the screw coil correct orientation but Dimarzio followers say it means nothing at least I read it somewhere but hello if the internet knows?

IMO - black rings don't go with the body binding.Or...as someone suggested earlier, I could just switch to black mounting rings. Not sure about the look, what do y'all think?
