I had a GSR-200 for like ten years that I paid $100 brand new, with a hardshell case. Never did anything but slap strings on it, either. Was really amazed at how nice it played - wish I'd never gotten rid of it.

Not sure what that has to do with Yamaha basses... but, no one ever accused me of being the sharpest tool in the shed, either.

Man, when I see what people shell out on golf club memberships or bicycles or watches I think its pretty easy to justify $10k or more on your hobby.

That's about $1500 in carbon febray right there going into a custom gravel bike build. It will most likely be well beyond $10k.

I actually just took my son’s bass home today. Ever since he started playing drums he hasn’t shown “Dracula” any love. It’s a Schecter Omen elite 5.
I cleaned and polished it up. Pop the new tuner on it.
Slapped strings on her (wrong size, I need super longs). Will get the right liength string Monday and do it all again.

Since I started the post, I'll go first.
in no particular order

I want to get completely Well-Hung this year. @TVvoodoo we will need to talk soon!
A couple pedals to add or replace the ones I'm not that thrilled with. Flanger, Chorus, EQ.
The Jackson Pro Series King V KVT which, thanks to GC, I'm still hunting for.
and low on the gear list to transform my computer room into a mini recording studio.

I need to update my list.

Sweet! I have the 5 string version I inherited when my brother died. He got it brand new in 1994.

They had two hanging in the store. The black one I bought and one about the same color as yours. Not a huge fan of black guitars, but the other one had a surface crack in the finish.

Scored my first bass local CL. Listed as Yamaha RBX 260. Pretty beat up, but intact. 34" scale - what is the standard / common string set?

Oh duh. I don't know the difference in the TRBX and RBX, other than maybe the T is "new and improved" marketing gimmick stuff. But, either way, great bang for the buck basses.
