I was a D’addario diehard for all the reasons you mention. But I’ve gotten hooked on Stringjoys. Their Signature line of strings sound great, last way longer, and don’t require as much stretching when installed. I’ve got five sets on a shelf, and am wondering when this set will go dead.

D'Addario are the only strings that i use exclusively, now for the past 12 years. Have never had one break to date 9-46 and 10-46s Nickel wound XL. They hold up very well, i play 2 hours each day, longevity is about 3 months, once they become dull sounding, a new set goes on.
I find D'Addarios very "zingy" sounding. And they seem to wear fast.
I use Ernie Balls on the Fenders, and GHS Boomers on the Gibsons.

Hmmm so these seem to last ages, hey...Exactly my experience with Stringjoy, too. I used D’Addario years ago but have swapped all my electric guitars over to Stringjoy.
^^^^This^^^^Elixirs 9-46 for me.
