She loves the retractable Volvo.Never fall in love with a car and do not hoard cars. They are liabilities...always. Even of paid off, they are depreciating jusy sitting there...then there is insurance...maintenance...risk of damage(dents in the street/flooding/etc.)..risk of theft. Pick one and sell it. The decision is difficult because it is close - so flip a coin.
Sorry, maybe I made a bad assumption. Will she be driving either of these cars now that she has a new one (a Tesla I guess?)She loves the retractable Volvo.
I could take or leave mine. I just need something to drive.
That's why I got the Challenger in the first place, it was cheap.
My Benz needed some work and was cheaper to trade it in than fix it.
It only had 60k miles on it so i was able to work it to my advantage by avoiding taxes on the trade in amount.
She'll still drive the Volvo on nice top down evenings.Sorry, maybe I made a bad assumption. Will she be driving either of these cars now that she has a new one (a Tesla I guess?)
Forum brothers & sister, I need advice.
My wife bought a new car today.
Do I keep my 2016 Challenger?
Or keep her 2013 Volvo C70?
Here's the dilemma, The Volvo is no doubt a superior car.
And also worth more than the Challenger, as it's the last year of the retractable tops and only
has 18k miles on it. It's hard to find a comparison as there are so few around, and the ones I do see have over 50k miles and are a couple of years older.
The Challenger is newer, much cooler looking and has just under 10k miles on it.
But it's a stripper base model with zero options. Thousands of them for sale.
What would be the better option for me???
Financially and practically? Oh wait this is a gear forum, we're not practical...
Any car dealers among the forum family?
I'd hate to let that clean and babied Volvo get away, but I also dig my Challenger.
Tough choice.![]()
Happy Anniversary Tony! Were right behind you.I had this situation, sort of.
I found an easy solution for it.
We had a Honda CRV and a GMC Acadia.
Mrs. M. went and got herself a snappy little red
retractable hardtop turbocharged rocket ship.
The CRV is good for Manhattan and guitar gigs.
The Acadia is good for haulage and longer trips.
(...and the dog likes riding in it.)
What to do? How did we choose? It was easy.
Now we have a Honda CRV, a GMC Acadia and a
snappy little red retractable hardtop turbocharged
rocket ship.
I am happy.
Mrs. M. is happy.
The dog is happy.
Yesterday was our 39th anniversary.
(Me and Mrs. M. that is. The dog is 7)

Those new Mustangs sure have the look.Oops, somehow missed this thread.
Volvos aree, imho, but the C70 is nice (very nearly bought one a few years ago, a good few years ago); they are not particularly good at anything, but they are just nice.
The Dodge is a Dodge, it has style.
I was gonna suggest, if you can get good money for them, selling both and getting one of these two off the proceeds:

There's a lot to like about that - and a new car, however similar to the old one is always good!
Or, a change:

She'll get another no doubt.^ the white one looks great, lovely lines in that colour (and I rarely like white cars).
Yeah, when I looked at those C70s I tried many different similar cars from Fiats to BMWs and all of them were better than the C70, but I just liked the C70; can't really put my finger on why, not fast, not good handling, not so luxurious, not great value, not special, but very nice...
(I ended up getting a V6 VW passat because I was doing lots of motorway driving and carrying 50+ kgs of gear to airports, etc, so it was functional; got it 18 months old and less than half price - boring, but good.)
I suspect you'll miss it when it's gone and not easily replaceable.
