What new song or songs your working on

Hi Robert,

I recently joined a band as their bassist. There's a long list of tunes they already know, so I'm
currently catching up with:
  • Kryptonite
  • California Man
  • Already Gone
  • Ramblin' Man
  • Who'll Stop the Rain
Yes, I know...Some are very easy to learn, but I'm lucky to manage enough time to learn
5 a week. April is the insane month in my profession.

Awesome!!!!! I still play bass now and then!

I know I'm a schmuck for saying it, but..none. I am so far past having any interest in learning other people's songs that the mere thought of it is frightful. I'm at the point where I would love (LOVE!) to join a band again (it's been almost a year now since my last project dissolved) but everyone I seriously talk to about it is only interested in doing covers, and I will. not. ever. be in a cover band again. I know a lot of people get a lot of pleasure just from getting up in front of an audience and being on stage and I applaud them and support them for it, but I personally can't do it, I just find it overwhelmingly boring.

I guess I'm just not a big fan of my originals, but I don't mind playing other folks original songs...

We are holding auditions soon at Primo Rehearsal Studios in Riverside....

Audition Setlist:

Breakin the Law
Blue on Black
Green Manalishi
Diamonds and Rust
Living after Midnight

..... :)

You kind of sum it up right there though. It's not even so much doing covers but the fact that everyone is always looking in the rearview, wanting to play 20/30/40 even 50 year-old songs :BH:. I really don't need to be kicking around on stuff I did in my high school talent show. If I could even find some like-minded people that were willing to play metal and hard rock songs recorded within the last 5 years I would consider it.

I can relate. It's based on the popularity of the old songs and the demand for bands that play them...
