No, but my JCM 900 2500 does as well as much more gain. I'll have to try that next.Does the Marshall have an effects loop?

Inserting a substitute preamp in to a serial effect return would bypass the preamp of said tube amp, leaving only the power amp in play. Preamps come in many flavors…the one I posted a pic of is a tube preamp with a really cool compressor on board(or not…if you choose). That preamp is great for lots of stuff…bass is an option, and a damned fine one. You would be bypassing all of the guitar preamp on the amp using this method-gain, eq etc.Uh Don, what would this do?
