I also found out that my Satin Honeyburst Tribute, as much as I like that guitar, is my worst sounding guitar...also bummer. Not sure what to do with it, but I have too many guitars and something has to go.

I bet you will!Mail that thing to me, I'll make it sound epic and treat it well
It's not really that it sounds bad, if it was my only guitar I'd be perfectly happy with it, it just doesn't compare with my others and I guess really it shouldn't. I'm comparing a Tribute to (basically) 2 standards. Also the tribute is weight relieved and the other 2 are solid body. I have another Tribute (weight relief) that's not up and running right now because I also don't think it sounds very good in the same way. I think the weight relief vs solid body is actually a thing, I didn't before. I'm learning a lot here with these experiments.Mail that thing to me, I'll make it sound epic and treat it well

What does surprise me it how different my Standard and my Traditional are with the same pickups when they're essentially the same specs with the exception of the neck profile.
Out of all the guitars I have owned only 4 have sounded the same or very close.I hear that. 2 consecutive guitars off the factory floor will sound different, it's the nature of things.
I've always heard that and now I've proven it...at least to my satisfaction I have.I hear that. 2 consecutive guitars off the factory floor will sound different, it's the nature of things.
