Kernel says, yes it is... The wood and the neck and the body seem like a beautiful
instrument, until you look at all the switches. Then yer eyes glaze over. Or at least mine do.
I'd love to play one of those, but would prefer a bass with only one
Precision pickup, and a volume knob, and a tone knob, and nothing more.
If you let me play this bass through my amp, I'd crank it to the "P-bass" setting and leave it there,
and let the amp do the heavy lifting.
Next I'd crank it to the "both p'ups wide open" setting, and leave it there, just to hear what
all that wiring and rigamarole was good for. If anything. I'm sure that in the past, all of this
wiring effort gave the player more options. But now, the humble P-bass with one pickup can
do about everything I need. I'll start a thread on the subject sometime soon.
