Unsure of proper room, but is there any way to record my music with minimal expense?

That is not true. I record 24 track sessions with an iPhone or an iPad….and have for over a decade. It is super portable, AND super easy….once you wrap your head around it.

Edit: I did not mean that to sound rude in any way. Just stating the fact that I have experience with iOS multitrack recording.
How does that work? Is there a program that allows that on a phone? Playback and record at same time?
I had no clue. My mistake.
Edit - I now see that above

This, and the appropriate mic’s will get the job done. You can replace the iPad with an iPhone. I started with an iPhone 4S and that interface.

So using an interface and software. I was thinking recording direct with phone mic, then playing back and recording another track without additional hardware which is what Mitch does, using the phone as is. That's why i assumed one needed more than just a phone. Perhaps it is still quite possible though, again, I don't use my phone so don't listen to me!!

I only have two old radio shack dynamic mikes and the M-audio black box. Nothing good but thy work.
Lo-fi can be super cool! Gotta start somewhere!
The dynamic mic’s don’t need phantom power, so that keeps things easy.
If you ever get ahold of a condenser mic, don’t worry…all you’ll need is a 9V battery…it sucks to take out of the interface, but it’s doable.

Alright then! A stereo mic! You’re gonna wanna record the Trio first, then throw that baby in front of the amp, and plug it in! (I presume it has two plugs?).
It says stereo on it, but the out is a mono 1/4" trs so I think they were being a little optimistic, unless the cable was changed at some point. But there are two big old metal condensers inside.
