Are we ever done with anything?Didn't we just get done with nuts?
Well 1/2 string above the slot would reduce friction for 1 thing...but I don't think you would see that on most guitars. Are we ever done with anything?
Glad to see someone say that half the string above the nut slot is not necessary.
Unless your name was Robert Herndon. Our friend Robert could wear out a plectrum like no other, frets stood no chance, and forget about strings and nuts.Well 1/2 string above the slot would reduce friction for 1 thing...but I don't think you would see that on most guitars.
Referencing the vid…. The idea being that a proper slot doesn’t touch the the string on the sides. Just the bottom. A hair’s breadth is clearance is as good as a mile.Well 1/2 string above the slot would reduce friction for 1 thing...but I don't think you would see that on most guitars.
I do miss his presence, he was a guru’ s guru.Unless you name was Robert Herndon. Our friend Robert could wear out a plectrum like no other, frets stood no chance, and forget about strings and nuts.
I think he must have put 150% effort into every practice, every gig and recording session with his guitars.
JohnnyGoo, I've also seen where players put a little graphite in some Vaseline and put small dabs in their slots.I used the wifes pencil for just that purpose the other day.
