it is my understanding that clocks were invented for some chinese emperor so his concubines could be spaced out properly or something like that.TBTH -- I dont like watches.... frankly I dont like "time" as an entity period I hate CLOCKS -- the kind that "tick" piss me off there are NONE in my home -- if I visit someone and they have one in their guest room I unplug or pull the battery out of it.....-- but I didnt create this existence .... so...I deal with it in "theory" --
time is another of mans attempts to control the inevitable .... lets LABEL everything and strangle the FVCK out of it ....
Sound like a reasonable use for a clock.it is my understanding that clocks were invented for some chinese emperor so his concubines could be spaced out properly or something like that.
probably a bs story but you never know.

i cant find the exact thing I read but i found this and many more like it....Sound like a reasonable use for a clock.

Theres a watch company called Spitz Watches that Ive seen a few of their pieces go for 6 figures easily. They're owned and made by none other than Dan Spitz, former guitarist and founding member of Anthrax. He actually left the band in 1995 to go study at Bulova on a 4 year degree and after, he attended the Watchmakers of Switzerland Training And Educational Program to study Horology and became one of the best watchmakers in the world apparently.I find fine watches fascinating. It's part the engineering, part the precision manufacturing, and part the art/aesthetic/finishing. That something so seemingly delicate as an automatic or mechanical movement can function so flawlessly in a tool watch that gets beat around (one thing I do no do is baby my watches, no matter what they cost) is part of the allure. And as with pretty much all things in life I have found that you do get what you pay for/know where your money goes which is something that really aids the value retention.

He rejoined the band for a few years from 2005-2008 but returned back to watchmaking to be closer to home, having just recently fathering twin sons born with Autism. He now both builds his own watches and acts as an instructor/supervisor for Chopard.
Pretty interesting guy and it gives a whole new meaning to " Persistence Of Time"
Here's one of his pieces
