I just noticed the price.
This is beyond ridiculous.

More ridiculous than $1.5k for a production line Tele?

Mhmm, Tele-lookalikes made from old or knotted wood usually look good. Maybe i should save my old green door for the top of a tele-alike guitar? (or a descendant of the Tele-bass...)

Another candidate well suited for such experiments is Gibson"s "Tele" - the Les Paul Junior (DC...)

Ya Bea do it +3,just add some nice double binding.i always wanted a double bound Tele.Ya Grumpy like the one you had :)

bea.... DO IT!

You know what you have to do, Bea.

After you finish your current project, we are counting on seeing this door atop some creation of yours...

Regarding the "bench guitar", isn't it interesting how the wood is important until it isn't? What would Fender say if you asked them if this was as good as maple or alder, while they rang your credit card for 12K? I would love it if Fender salesman had to contend with this question from now on: "If you say that old stadium bench sounds good, why should I pay extra for this premium wood?" I am sure they will tell you that the custom shop did some magic voodoo on it, something that all the other luthiers and woodworkers in the world never heard of and is even more expensive than the premium tonewoods. The lesson to be learned - Just grab a guitar and play!!!!!!
