My wife has never asked me to do a concert but we often perform together and she hears my guitar when I play.

From the standpoint of looks, she likes my SG Original 2 the best. But, from the standpoint of tone, she likes my Washburn HB-30 the best. The HB-30 has none of the original electronics or p'ups, however.

Anyway, we guitar players have preconceived notions of what ~should~ sound best. We think the Les Paul, ~should~ sound best, for example.

It's interesting to hear the opinions of others who don't really know guitars, but who just listen and have no preconceived notions of what they ~should~ like!

All three are good playing instruments and all three have good tone. However, notes fret easier on the Schechter. I find that I play with less effort. I use less strength for a given movement. Notes are more accurate without thinking about them.

That's similar to my observation with my cheap, imported Jackson Dinky. Usually when I just sit down and play, I'll grab the Jackson first. It also has a compound radius board.

This is my exact experience. But my revelation is....that she's right. I got my sg a few years ago, a dream, and it's been Gibson Gibson Gibson ever since. I totally love my SG, but I have to be honest, the ibanez is superior, in almost every way for my taste.

I think a big part of my awakening, is the fact that I've progressed not only musicaly, but with my amp settings. a few minor variations and understanding of it, goes a long way.

I owned a s5470 with a 5 piece wizard neck for about a week. I still haven't played anything like it since. I was blown away.

The js2400 has a prestige js one piece maple neck, which is a bit more rounded, kind of like a strat. It plays like butter. Satch was a huge Hendrix fan, perhaps that influenced his neck creation.


Ok, sticking to the OP....Satch playing live for Sweetwater. C'mon, the guy can jam!!

Other than LIVE, nothing beats this through good headphones!!!!

I don't believe he was. Some of the early js series guitars had the js prestige neck. Like the chromeboy. They don't have the compound radius....they don't flatten as you go up the neck. Mine is very strat like, so I figure that's his thing. It's nothing like the wizard, which is flatter and wider from what I recall.

By the way....I think those chromeboys fetch $20k
 
The Urge!!

I know, you've never heard of them. No one has....but me. I love 'em. Just a bit of ska. Great brass, great head banging, great music. Not for the tame or timid.

story of it....I was life stared via helicopter from a race. Weeks later when I got my vehicle back, someone had left the cd in it. I had nothing to do while rehabbing my injuries and ended up loving a band I had never heard of.

As we all know, music has special meanings and memories. This one reminds me of difficult times....but times that changed my wild out of control lifestyle. It probably saved me......now I have the Urge as a favorite. Wow, looking back....how the hell did I make it.

Another urge, about drinking and smoking. This was their first, raw album.
