This should aggravate some of the TUBE LOVERS

I call BS I'm sure they are fakes. It took me 2 years to dial a real Dumble into the tone zone using finger vibrato to kill the sustain no two are the same
The Steel String Singer is a rare amp only 9 ever made 4 100 watt and 5 150 watt. If so please give serial numbers and photo's

In my line of work, i often get invited to play certain things that some might consider rare or even obscure. One of the reasons that i enjoy my position is that i know how to maintain confidentiality.

In all candor, I find the entire Dumble situation nothing more than an opportunity for people to brag about how much they spent.

I remain unimpressed, and not just with Dumble, but with most boutique offerings.

I would prefer to play a lesser amp and invest the money into some worthwhile humanitarian projects.

Quam bene vivas refert, non quam diu...

wasnt this dumble guy a recluse with no friends? .......Alexander "HOWARD" Dumble.........really?.......(really HOWARD is better than ALEX??????---er (NO) moron)
so this guy makes a few amps (9 of one version--WHOOPIE DO!) and he is a legend ??????-- because a few (cant be more than 9) people bought them?........
Carlos Santana used them but he used MESA and FENDER and Marshall.....and???? what else?

Do we even know this guy MADE the amps (anyone SEE his fat arse make an amp?) probably made sammiches while some SCHLUB actually did the work
Peavey made a poop TON of amps that are out there working DECADES after creation for mere PENNIES in comparison -- do the folks at the ELKS CLUB 42 dancing to GIMMIE 3 STEPS care if its a DUMBLE-- a BUMBLE a PEAVEY or a HIWATT ????????????????????? nope NO THEY "F"ing DO NOT---they dont care -- they wanna dance and get LAID--
PERIOD

Ive never been impressed with a Dumble (sorry Dumble worshipers-- lost on me )-- never played one -- likely NEVER will ---ever ----in my lifetime
and
1. Im good with that (Im also not going to rub my junk on the Mona Lisa -- or Cindy Crawford) Ive accepted that too
2. Id still sound LIKE poop on a SILVER STRING SLINGER SPECIAL googlefonick FVCK NUCK dumble as I do on my 200.00 .........................................................

Dang nabbit... you made me do this:
QUAM BENE VIVAS REFERT NON QUAM DIU ~ IT IS HOW WELL YOU LIVE THAT MATTERS, NOT HOW LONG

Everyday, I try my best to be a decent human being and place the welfare of others before myself. I certainly have days where i miss the mark, act selfishly, or have a bad attitude, but as i have grown older, i have become less important to myself. I'm still fiercely opinionated, but at the end of the day, its what we do for others that is the true measure of our self-worth...

It's the famous Musicians and studio players who want A Dumble that started the buzz. And the price is just a write off as price doesn't matter.
I'd be interest to know if there's a difference between how Plexi's build differs from the real deal. Dumble builds studios, Pa boards all from design up so he just doesn't build amps. And a lot of famous players use them and in those circles they work well for them. I've been planning to build one for myself the last couple of years.

I passed the Dumble audition in 1978 HAD was working on consoles in the studio and used one of his amps long story short
I had to rerecord the tracks and got my A$$ reamed by the producer. I did get the Dumble order form back then it was $1300.00 for a ODS-100
The secondary market on real Dumble amps is crazy town with less than 300 ever made it's supply and demand.
Unless your Eric Clapton or Kenny Wayne Shepherd and a few others your not getting a new built one now.

The one amp that opened the doors for me was #183 ODS-100 EL-34 high plate skyliner EQ 2.2uf mid shift PPS power supply
Thordarsen Meissner transformers EIA code 238 have fun.

In all honesty my all time favorite amp ----
can find em all day long under 200.00 the speaker is perfect -- hell I run every head I own through that same speaker makes wonderful sounds
Does everything from classical cleans reverb dripping jazz --to blues grit to metal to stupid levels of distortion----

Agree 100%. I’ve played through 2 different ODS’ (yes they were real, at a very respected vintage dealer’s shop) and was stunned at how boring they sounded. Definitely didn’t come close to living up to the hype in tone and some kind of silly inside joke for the price. Plus they were put together worse than the Heathkit amp I built in high school. There were literally dozens of other amps in the shop that smoked those silly Dumbles.

Those things are MONSTERS.

Best one I ever played through was a Bogner Überschall. My god, it was devastating, but I have no use for something so loud. If I ever have a suitable place to use one properly again it will be mine.

I played a Engl Marty Friedman Inferno today and it was unreal the tones available without pedals of any kind!!!!

I don't need one...want, however, is strong...
