Found this pic of a gold top P90 Trad on Reverb with a B7 and Vibramate adapter.
Still trying to decide between the Deluxe or the Studio.

Gotta burn a set of strings on the 1st install, but it would be an easy process to move it between LP's.
The Tribute is my go-to for a quickie, so I don't think I want to put the Bigsby on that one.

Sure, it would look fantastic on the gold top. It would also look incredible on the wine red…
Can’t say…but I’d go with the wine over the more modern, two row, soap bars.
 
Yep, Gold Top for sure! Plus it might help distract from the double screw poles on those wanna be P90s.

Not a divebomb kinda trem like a FR or Kahler.

Would look cool on one o my Goldies but sorta useless as I crank the livin hell outta my whammys.
 
My Vote also goes to the Wine Red Studio.

The Goldtop is already unique, because it has the P90s. I would modify one of the Humbucker Guitars, and in ti's current state, with Covered PUs, it would look best on the red one.

Exactly my thoughts. A Bigsby is kinda cool to have, but I don't think a Bigsby guitar could become my #1. It is just one of those things that are nice once in a while, but not permanently.
I have to admit I'm slightly biased. :hide:
 
Decided to start off with the B7 on the Studio.
Found the bag of original plastics in the stash.
Speed knobs wound up on the pelham blue Maestro special, but I have some top hats.

Here's a pic with the blacks just laying on top of the creams.
Planning to meet the B7 seller after lunch so I have some time to swap plastics while the strings are off anyway.
Any opinions on cream or black?

@fitz The "Eye of Sauron" needs a bit of tape for the pupil to better mimic and disturb the viewer.

You didn't have a RUN THE F AWAY, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?!?! poll option. The last bigsby I saw was at a guitar builders guild meeting where it was thrown and flew like a drunk pelican across the room to crash into a corner full of junk.

Of the three the redwine as it will look less like an ectomorph from Alien waiting to explode out and get ya...

I've had one of these on a SG in the early 80's and didn't care for it.

If it doesn't, I don't think the stock bridge will be a major problem.
I just used the stock bridge with the B5 on the SG and where it's now on the Firebird.

I'm also not sure if I'll bother with the string butler.
There was one om my SG when I got it.
I took it off because it was covering the 50th logo.
I never had tuning issues with any of my Gibsons with the string angle from the nut to the tuners.

Might leave both as a wait and see if there even a problem that needs solved.

Yes, that String butler is ugly... :facepalm: With a properly cut Nut it is a non- issue. Similarly, there are many guitars with standard Gibson Bridges and Bigsbys. Those things depend a lot how the guitar is used- or abused.

It might as well work perfectly as it is.
 
Welp, I went with the black.

Here's a pic of the Vibramate adapter.
There are felt washers around the stop bar screws.

Tail hinge is held in place by the strap button screw.
There's a small adapter plate there also that screws to the hinge and has felt pads against the guitar.

Did a Well-Hung strap swap as well. (w/ the Cabronita Tele in the background)
I think the black leather goes better than the red suede.

Roller bridge didn't fit the bridge posts.
I think I have a Nashville bridge, and the roller one needs ABR posts. (holes are too small)
There is some sway to the bridge when the trem bar is used, so I don't think it will be an issue.

Gave it some amp time and the tuning seems to stay just fine, even after some wiggles.
Brand new strings still need to settle in a bit, but I don't think I'm going to bother with the string butler either.
