This is an older pic of some of the pedals on my board. I use hanger wire to fasten my Boss and Ibanez pedals to the board. I form a little eyelet in the wire and screw the wire to the board. You can't see the screw because it's blocked by the plugs in this pic.

I don't have the DS-1 on my board anymore, but this shows the idea.

The wire really holds them securely if you make sure to bend it so you don't have any slack in it. I've carried my board around quite a bit and never had a pedal shift around.

Armed with that vital piece of knowledge, I have now voted. However, I agree with RVA that if we all take Dave's lead (the king of pedalboards) then we won't go far wrong.
 
I voted "Hooks on the board, loops on the pedal" for the same reason stated above...
I didn't want my pedals sticking to every darn thing, carpets, bedspreads, tablecloths, necktie,
shirt tail, girl friend's hair, etc etc... when I use them off the board.

I came up with this notion on my own, and then began to believe that I was the only player in
the cosmos who did things this way, and that every other player put the hooks on the pedals.

I'm so happy to know I'm not alone. And also that I should remove any velcro before attempting
to sell any more pedals. *grins

Oh and I learned how to flip eggs when I was about 22, and haven't forgotten.
That's how I do 'em. Over easy, over medium, or scrambo...

I suppose when you are reselling, velcro says "gigged to death", while a clean base says "bedroom use only". A bit like used car ad - one lady owner. Although that usually means there isn't a straight panel on the car Sorry ladies, just a joke).
 
Don't want the hooks on the pedal - if you take it off the board it sticks to things.

I have no choice in, the board came with the loop already on. When I put the hook strips on the pedals I only put it where it will line up with the loop strips on the board, so a strip across either end of the pedals. I do rotate some of my pedals, fuzz & dirt. I get round having problems with the hook on the pedal quite easily, a couple of strips of loop tape on a piece of ply wood that I stick the unused pedals to & use for home use. Cheers
