If you've played a 6 string for a while, then you have the 1 guitar you cant live without. The reasons you love it so much are wide and varied. It could be your first guitar. Maybe the tone is like no other. It could be comfortable, like an old pair of worn jeans. It could be the weight, shape, color, brand. Whatever the reason, you love it so much you want to be buried with it!

What is your favorite instrument of sonic destruction and why? (Don't wimp out, gives us pics and really why you love it)

My Custom made Tele, it was delivered to me in February this year, made to my specifications. I just can't say enough about it, Its comfortable I had a belly cut like my other guitars. Its light at 7lbs, great resonation. The tones are what i like with double Humbuckers. Its one of a kind. It just plays so well, it turned out much better than i could imagine. It is my #1 guitar. It will be with me until i leave this earth.

That’s a beautiful SG
SG are one of my favorite style of guitar.
But the guitar I play more than any other is my 1990 Showmaster. It’s lighter than my SG. First guitar I ever had. The neck feels super comfortable in my hand and the tones I get out of it are great. I also love the finish.

My Frankenstein 1982 Stratocaster with 1-3/4" custom neck and custom made DiMarzio Neanderthal 16.5k AlNico9 44AWG humbucker.

It's light, comfortable and stays in perfect tune. It's just the guitar that I trust the most because it supported me 5 nights a week in the clubs.

Despite owning my own personal grail ('79 Les Paul Custom Silverburst), it's actually got to be this one. It's a 2016 non weight-relieved plaintop Traditional. It recently had the wiring updated to a Gunstreet harness and a set of orignal late '70s T-tops, and it is simply the best playing, best sounding, best feeling guitar I have ever had my hands on.

Sorry for the terrible pic

Loaded question to me, since I hate to part with any instrument lol but if i absolutely had to give up every one i owned except just one? Id keep this.

It is a rare model anyways ( the '03 Gibson X-plorer Pro) but even rarer in Trans Black ( only ever saw 2 other ones in my lifetime, mostly Trans Amber), so its cool to bond with something unique and not commonly seen. But on top of literally being able play anything I want, its always been incredibly easy and reliable and that's the most important factor to me

Kerry, didn't I tell you those 3 knob Specials were the bomb diggity? My first SG is the couple year older black version of yours.

Me shortly after getting my Black 3 Knob SG off ebay. Funny thing was I did not realize it was a 3 knob when I was bidding, but saw so once she arrived.

Hard to tell from the light in this pic, but mine has definitely edged over into "Snotburst" territory.

I've read that many people think its the silver automotive paint they used that causes the clearcoat on these to yellow so dramatically but of course I honestly don't know other than they do seem to yellow faster than other colors from the same time period. I personally like a good greened-out silverburst.
