Deceiver!
That guitar is superb. That’s a beautiful SG
SG are one of my favorite style of guitar.
But the guitar I play more than any other is my 1990 Showmaster. It’s lighter than my SG. First guitar I ever had. The neck feels super comfortable in my hand and the tones I get out of it are great. I also love the finish.

What do you do with coating and color all day?Ok. Here is a fun fact from someone who works with coatings and colors all day.
coatings do yellow with time, but the main reason why silver would go green is due to pigment in the paint burning out from a combination of aggressive coating diving into the paint and light.
FAKE AMPS --- FAKE AMPS --- FAKE AMPS lolTo reveal a lil secret: SOME ( not all) of the stuff Ive recorded is actually a Line 6 POD X3Live on Insane mode, dressed up with various cab simulations, EQ ran into the FX return of a Marshall, with that acting as a power amp only. He dose fifty shades of grey lolWhat do you do with coating and color all day?
My guess is it’s either coated with an oil based polyurethane or a nitrocellulose lacquer. Both are notorious for yellowing due to age and light exposure.OK, that is interesting. Let me ask you this: the silver doesn't change, it stays bright and shiny under the clearcoat (you can even see this in the photos Rob posted above around the edges of the wear). Only the clear lacquer yellows, and on these guitars it yellows faster and more deeply than the other colors these were offered in. Any insight as to why that might be?
If I had to pick a 2nd favorite. Probably be the Strat I bought new a couple years ago. That and the Ovation are my only new guitars. Rest have previous “experience.”View attachment 75321
I color match and test coatings on colors for fade resistance. Mostly for cosmetic companies and some pharmaceutical applications. What do you do with coating and color all day?
