The Muse I Adorn

Asked which guitar he played on a cruel busy last night; which one?,
Lonely man cries for guitar and answers none!
:sick::sick:

All players pick up and fondle #1
Old farts like me here on TTR wish they were young

A Strat, an SG or LP tonight?
Red or Gray or TV Yellow White
Only we decide which is right.
And If you hear me playing well, it IS an illusion.....

:p:p

Tonight I hang a guitar around my neck that is as dangerous as it is beautiful. Meet Earl. This is a 2007 PRS McCarty, purchased NOS in 2012. It was on lock-down for years due to the cites restrictions on Brazilian rosewood, which is what it sports as a fret board. The body is Korina, the neck is mahogany. It has 2 McCarty pickups, wired to split separately instead of together (the only mod). The pickups are warm but loud!

"Hey Man! Well, I retired the Valley Arts stuff almost 20 years ago. They sold out the L.A. business to Samick and I just was not impressed with the quality.

As it turns out, the guy that actually made my Valley Arts guitars was Dudley Gimpell, and he left Valley Arts for MusicMan. He made most of my Valley Arts guitars, if not all of them - The Robot, the Sunburst etc., All by the same luthier!! It was easy to get what I wanted from MusicMan and they make a far better guitar for sure.

I still have a few of the Valley Arts guitars. I kept the Robot because it's a one of a kind thing and I still prefer EMG pick-ups over anything else. Remember I used to have the Floyd Rose system on all my guitars, but then MusicMan came up with some kind of lockless tremelo system and it just works fantastically.

Seriously, though the MusicMan is the best guitar ive ever had..."
