trying to get you to put some pickups with BALLS in your Strat......and trying to get RVA to buy an Xavier florentine so I can trade him a Dean Sarasota for it later![]()

Thank you for this. I am all for mods, and your opinion good opinion goes a long way!In the spirit of teamwork, and just because I had the polishing rags out....
I gave my XV-500 a long overdue wipe down. The tuners are Sperzel...just what I found in
black lockers. The bridge pickup is, as I mentioned in another post, a Burst Bucker Pro. The pickup switch is now a Switchcraft. I wired it 50s style and threw in some Orange Drop tone caps. I don’t think I replaced the pots.
It’s weird how smooth the fretboard is on this thing too.

Ray, I hope this helps.
Edit: I can’t speak to their current models. As can be seen in the pic's above, mine is the older, Art Deco style headstock.
It has been a perfectly serviceable cheapie guitar, after a couple of mod's though.

I started playing this. I even added new abalone string pegs

Then my wife asked if I could lower it. Since I had already played the songs I know that are suitable for acoustic and it was not plugged in, I switched to this.
2012 Custom 24 made for the PRS Experience convention and featured on the site as the introduction of new color, Autumn Sky. Coincidentally , I named it Xavier!

Thanks brother. Sounds good too. It has the same 53/10 pickups I just sold a pair of, and in this guitar they work perfectly. Pampering your guitars is fun. They always show their appreciation!Holy flamey goodness Ray!
That PRS is crazy cool in the looks department!
Gorgeous!
I went back to thrashing my crescent moon SG to enjoy the newly set action, and slick, shiny, body treatment.
I even fired up the Mesa Dual Rec to shake the dust off the ceilings.
Haven’t done that in a while.
Maybe I’ll give the XV a spa day this week.

Unfortunately, I do not think the folks in the bar would appreciate it if I did that! They also like it when you drag them into bars and get all sweaty with them.

Funny how things work out.
I don't get the whole "signature model"
concept and yet I have 2 signature model guitars,
both named for guys named Steve, neither of which
I really paid any attention to until after I got
their signature model guitars.
