The Muse I Adorn

Yay!!! The world is saved!!! beer continues to be produced!!!

This week I'm not only going to brew beer, I'm also going to do a forklift certification course!:D I'm already certified to look after our steam kettle (we use steam to boil the wort and heat all hour water in the brewhouse, I had to do a four-day course for that). I am kind of fed up with studying when it's not purely for fun, but this is not really very hard, and it's a nice break from the physically rather straining work as a brewer. We hope to finish the course in two days, but I have only just started using a counterbalance forklift truck (I've only used low level order pickers, pallet trucks and small stacker trucks at work so far), so I hope I have enough practice to pass the exam. I'm pretty confident I'll be fine, though.

And when I come home after having passed the exam, I can award myself by having a beer and playing these two babies again! Yes, I know you like pics, so I'll post them yet again...

I just set the Derek Trucks SG up for slide (it's kind of a no-brainer for some reason...), and boy, I'm having fun with it!

I have quite a few guitars on my lap that I really love. Thanks to PhotoBucket I can't post pics at the moment until I get my computer set up at home. I'm a bit of a guitar hoarder...almost 20 guitars. A few are Squier Strats great for modding. Here's a list of my top playing guitars that I own and cherish.

- '91 Gibson SG Special w/ ebony fret board.
- '98 Fender American Standard Strat in a deep Bordeaux metallic purple.
- 1952 AVRI Fender Telecaster that I bought in 2006 during Fender's 60th anniversary.
- 2008 Gibson Les Paul Studio in black and chambered for a great airy tone.
- 2006 Epiphone Les Paul Standard in black...great player!
- A black Jackson King V with neck-thru body and a Floyd Rose vibrato unit.
- A Hagstrom Viking Deluxe Semi-hollow body in black similar to a Gibson ES-335 with a Bigsby style vibrato unit.
- '89 Yamaha RGX Custom guitar in black that I paid over $2,000 back then brand new (case was extra). It's another great guitar that looks like a work of art.
- '90 Takamine Jasmine classical acoustic guitar that cost $600 at the time.
- Takamine Jasmine steel string acoustic guitar with a beautifully quilted wood back and sides.

Tonight’s mistress....2006 Gibson Les Paul Studio Faded all mahogany:

It got a full spa treatment today. New strings- Dean Markley 9.5-46(just trying them out for feel)
Fretboard cleaned and oiled. All hardware checked, and tightened/adjusted to my liking. This one needed a truss rod adjustment, as relief was at around .018 when I checked it...I think I slacked on this one last spring.
Fortunately a little twist of the truss rod got it right back in line. Intonation checked, and spot on. Action low and sweet.
I put some hours in on this one the first few years I had it, and I can see why every time I pick it up. This was the first Gibson I ever purchased.

That is quite a wall of sound you have there!

love this one... I don't always play a Les Paul, but when I do I prefer the Gibson Les Paul Special faded all mahogany.

actually, I don't own a Les Paul, giving my love to other models freely. But if I ever bought one, this would be a contender.
A strong contender. I like the working man's guitar.

But here's what's on my guitar stand right now, if not in my hairy paws. '06 Epiphone Wilshire replica...
Modded with Grover locking tuners, Ebony TRC from Scott Swirski of Canada, Tusq nut, Gibson 490R neck p'up, Golden Age Overwound Humbucking Bridge p'up, TonePros bridge and tail, DiMarzio p'up covers, StewMac wiring kit...
Epi 0917@100.jpg
I know... it's not plugged in to the Orange Micro Terror and home made cabs in the background.
Skeeter was just posing for a glamour shot. And that's Luna (the SG) and #9 (the Martin) in the
on deck line. Waiting to swing for the bleachers. Any questions?

I’m not articulate enough right now to respond comprehensibly, but your collection has been an inspiration to me for a while now sir. Much adoration to your SGs and wilsire etc. play on sir!

I kinda like the huge washers.
They compliment the goofiness
of the reverse slant neck pickup.
is it reversed.....or all the OTHERS reversed????????

Are you real ----or a figment of your own imagination??????....man

what was that green pill I took earlier???????
