Do you feel they add sustain? DO the strings move freely rather than bind - are those some benefits?

I got that guitar new in 1973 it could be a 1971 it was stolen in 1977 got it back in 1985 re-fretted bridge changed just trashed
feels like a rape victim with a brass nut. It's close to 12 pounds one piece body and neck serial numbers are gone.

The brass nuts eliminate any string binding at the nut.
So will any other nut material if the slots are cut correctly.
As for sustain benefits. Probably not, especially for me as
I am usually somewhere above the 7th fret.
Open chords do seem to sound a little "ringier" though.

Spent some time today playing this through this
into a couple of different amplifiers. Once again,
putting a single coil right next to the bridge HB is
a very good idea. I'm surprised no one else does it.
(Also, the Source Audio Nemesis is just amazing.)

It looks different because of different light sources.

Adrian that blue thing is actually the original Steve Morse signature model.
It is based on his original "Frankenstein" tele and makes a million sounds.

The Y2D model that I have is the result of him realizing that when playing live
Steve only used 5 of those sounds and never the slanted single coil. He went back
to EBMM and explained which 5 sounds he wanted and they came up with this.

5- neck
4- neck + bridge
3- middle
2- middle + bridge
1- bridge

It's a wonderful guitar.

After I got it I discovered Steve Morse.
