I will stipulate that the settings shown above - on my Valvestate VS265 - still produced incredible clarity, even at elevated volume levels. However, those same settings on my Marshall DSL40C did not produce good results.
Go figure!!!!

Just different tonal qualities from the different designs from Marshall, but that's the same for any amp: Fender, Mesa, even VOX. But, you all know that.
Then, we have our own guitars, ears, volume level, room acoustics, the list is never ending...
These Youtube videos where they put the amps at the same settings and compare the sound always seem so absurd to me; surely you'd describe the kinda tone you're after then get the closest on each amp to compare, regardless of settings. You gotta dial stuff in - I'm not very good at it, and it's one reason I much prefer my tube single channel amp to my Yamaha modelling amp; the fewer settings and variations the easier it is for idiots like me to dial in a tone I like.

I will probably be beatin for saying this , but I am not a fan of Marshall amps, I owned a small 15 watt modeling amp had it one week got rid of it. Now the shop I go to has a all kinds of Marshall amps. And I have played every one of them in their shop from small to big. I have never found one that gives me what I want. You make some good points Grumpy.

She can then block me out also. She will love it! And Bluetooth for TV and computer. I think we are on to something. Do they have waterproof types?she needs some noise canceling headphones

I bought one a number of years ago
to see if it would "grow on me".

I AM A MARSHALL FAN --- and I HATED the CODE-- I tell everyone NOT to buy a MARSHALL CODE -- compaired to a VOX -- or Fender or PEavey modeling amp the Martshal is 100% non working crap IMHO
BUT --- other Marshalls I LOVE---
some peaveys I DO NOT LIKE -- the Royal 8 all tube class "A" amps pop to mind right off--- but my Bandit 112 --- I adore----
I Love my MESA -- would I equally love ALL MESAS EVER MADE -- -probably not--
taste the versions--- enjoy the differences--- the fun is in the variables

For the last week I've been reconfiguring my JCM800 50 watt clone with some new mods. I've been strictly using my '02 Special Faded while molesting the amp. A killer playing guitar. Refinished, new controls, Grover Rotomatics, TUSQ nut, silly but cute pickguard, and custom TRC. Pickups are the stock set of Gibson 490s...

Ha ha... SG John has 20x the amp power compared to my inventory. Doesn't he live in the east coast? I bet he can blow Cali into the sea from there!!!!
Then there's 67Plexi... Alaska man, right? I wonder how much artillery he's got stored...
He might just be able to wipe out the whole west coast...
