The Muse I Adorn

So I was thinking about getting one of these

PRS-Special-Semi-Hollow-Limited-Edition.jpg

and trading this in to help pay for it.
(The guitar, not the amplifier)

but this morning I played it and guess what...

It's not going anywhere.

The PRSs do look a bit 'tarty' - the grey machine certainly has some more workmanlike style about it, imho.

They look tarty because they have the typical PRS
overdone to the point of cartoonism 10 tops on them.
The guitar looks much nicer with the non 10 top on it.

About "the grey machine"...

I think the guitar was designed with ergonomics as the first priority.
"Let's make it super comfortable no matter what it looks like."
It is tiny, has great fret access, very deep body cuts
and an asymmetric neck carve that matches the web
between your thumb and index finger perfectly.
It feels like nothing else I have ever played.
(It sounds very good too.)

That's what I meant. :D

What is the grey guitar?

Bouncing back and forth between these this morning...

Very good playing guitar the black LPC replica. Although its clearly not a real Gibson, it's on par with my 2016 50's Tribute in every regard - except for tone.

I've come to prefer the uncovered pickup's more airy quality and these have nowhere near enough punch to develop good gain...

I put gold witch hats on it this morning...

The Slime and and Marvin the Melody Maker got all cleaned up and stored for a while. I just bang on the Indo-Puke strat at the moment - at least, until it sells and the money goes into the American Strat savings envelope.

I was playing the LPR --
but then -- decided to get my Bill LAwrences on
for all the MALIGN and hate ---- the SONEX 180-- really is a GREAT vintage NORLIN Gibson product---
