The Muse I Adorn

Rainy day (Monday but has a Sunday feel) some slow Jazz noodling and missing my Kitty Buddy Orion---did a String Change today -- first one since his passing ...and it was ---- sad--- not having him chase the strings and be a general goof ball-----string changes will never be the same.......:(
Miss ya buddy
Heres to you

Speaking of string changes. Just gave the 89 Strat some TLC , with a fret board clean, some grease on the nut and saddles and new 9s and a wound G. Gonna run through Twist and Shout a few times to see how she sounds. :celebrate2:

View attachment 17703 It's been the copy of the Billy-Bo that I made. Ever since I picked up the DST Solera 50 and Hiwatt, it's the only guitar I want to play. The clarity out of that guitar and amp combination is truly inspirational to play. It also makes me work much harder because there is no place to hide. I love it. Played a gig with the Billy-Bo and Solera Friday night, and it sounded great.

Every time I see a pic of that guitar it makes me drool. Actually, everything in your pics is making me drool. Just give me a sec to wipe my 'phone screen. Cheers

Agreed, nice guitar...Funny in a way, I notice that almost all Fender's have the low 'E' saddle screwed all the way back. When I was building the Von Herndon Tele-esque models, I found myself frequently cutting the intonation springs down on the low 'E' because they were so compressed....

I haven’t participated in this for a while...

Please forgive the crappy pic of my crappy acoustic, but this Martin has been my companion for the evening(along with the cat).
Good stuff...even if it is partly laminate(back and sides...and neck...kinda), with a Richlite board...the action, and intonation are pretty good on this hunk of glue...

Nice! I love the Richlight on my Martin, and in general. I asked Paul Reed Smith if he wpuld ever use it. He ignored me, but 3 others repeated my question. He said "What is that?" (give me a break).

Indeed! Perhaps he’s hangin' on Mr. Taylor's coattails, and a stash of “striped ebony”...or some other such commitments to other fretboard materials.

I’m ok with the Richlite in this application.

Preface, I'm a new boy not an experienced player.
So today I'm working on The Byrds intro to "Mr Tambourine Man" pulled my dear wife's 620/12 off the wall. Great tone, very similar to Roger McGuinn. Alas the strings are very close together, changed my mind and got my six string jangle machine out. That's better not exactly there with the tone but more playable :-)

This is the vid I'm going on, any better suggestions welcome.

Thanks Ray, looks well worth a try later tonight.
Being Sunday afternoon here I'm bogged down with friends and family coming and going.
I like to see them come and LOVE to see then go ;-)

EDIT, An hour ago my boy was here with his youngest, I said have a look at this link (the one I posted) and he said no thanks, what tune is it? I told him and quicker than I could bring the link up he'd figured out how to play it and was sounding sweet. I hate young people :-(

Next time, pull up 'Faith' by Ghost for him... :)
