Right there with both of you. Wet land about a 200ft east of our house. House surrounded by timber. Been really dry so far this spring/summer. So not too many issues with mosquitos….. yet. In a normal year, you don’t go outside after dusk. And we did finally get some honest rainfall the last few days, so mosquitos are gonna be an issue. Anyway, step out my back door to this scenery.

I have beavers in my swamp. I had a heck of a time with tiny black gnats this weekend. They are so small they can go right through the screen. Once it gets dark they come in and gnaw on me.
I bet @aon Has a sauna. I'll trade you a pair of beavers for a sauna stove.
Had to come home this morning. Blower motor shorted out in the furnace down here, so no AC.
Yeah, the roadkill here is terrible. Lots of deer, raccoons (southern part of the state), porcupines, turkeys, coyotes and the occasional wolf. A few moose get hit every year. That's an automatic ambulance ride.I saw a beaver sitting at the side of the road along the Ipswich River on Friday. He was a small one. I hope he stayed out of the road, and went back in the river. On the same stretch of road about a mile north, I saved a spotted turtle from getting run over. He was crossing the street, and I pulled over to grab him and carry him across the road.

Cool! Seeing as I have no shortage of wood that will be the way I eventually go.Oh yes. I'm back from the cabin and don't have pictures but it's a rather nice one there. Wood burning stove with an integrated water tank (as there is no running water). I believe it's this one:
At home it's a bog standard electric one, probably closest to this but from 1987:
Cup Graphite
Wall mounted Cup electric heater is a real classic of electric heaters. The secret of its enduring popularity is its timeless appearance, durability, and ease of use. With its basic functions, it is an ideal choice for small and normal-sized sauna rooms.

Cup electric heater has 23kg...www.tylohelo.com
Wood burning ones are almost always almost better (the steam feels "softer"), but for an electric one ours isn't too bad. Probably because the room is sufficiently large and there's a proper amount of airflow. Had to replace the heaters a few years ago as 2/3 of them had failed. No wonder it had problems reaching the set temperature...
