Reading it sober, I agree. Clearly I wasn't thinking clearly yesterday. Apologies. Cheers
What did you have Ivan Ho...beer or single-malt scotch?
Cheers!

Good to know that they can turn out so well. I'll shoot them an email tomorrow. CheersThe Rickenbastard was my first total kit build----- custom "aged metals" /.////vintage finish --- my goal was a 70's Rick that sat in a basement unloved for 40 years------ I think I nailed it --- thanks to some wiring wizardy by Drumoid--- it plays AWESOME and looks killer

Cheers Mr Grumpy. You be happy to know that with a "sober" perspective, I have realised the error of my ways & am back to a junior. I'll start making enquires later today. CheersI was only being humerous - nothing to apologise for! You're comments are always great to read, Ivan.
Oh oh! This should ante up the entertainment around here...Now, just a quick question: do you prefer the dogear pickups to the soapbars? If so, why?

I removed the Ken Anderson P90 from my Epiphone Junior last night very late. I put another all black with a black everything else except for red knobs. I have an old photo of it and it really looks better with the chrome pickup. I knew that all along but this expresses how I feel about art being dead. You already know the answer. Adjustability! It even feeds into the Phil X theory since you can take the pickup futher away from the strings if otherwise prudentAmazing guitars there, Guitarweasel. Blimey, I'd love to have those!
Now, just a quick question: do you prefer the dogear pickups to the soapbars? If so, why?
Phil X says: the magnets on a neck pickup reduce string vibration and harmonics for the other pickup.
Thus: D+P+X=a single dogear is best.
Is not a dogear & soap bar the same pickup under the cover? If so, a soap bar's height is easily adjustable up or down, a dogear only up by shining, it would seem. On the subject of the neck pickup reducing string vibration, I think there may well be something to it. I know that in his quest for tone Malcolm Young removed the neck pickup of his old Gretsch & would stuff a sock into the pickup cavity to damp body vibration. Malcolm had a very good ear for tone. CheersRight, two thoughts:
Dug & Pat say: One dogear on the body just sounds better than a soapbar in the body.
Phil X says: the magnets on a neck pickup reduce string vibration and harmonics for the other pickup.
Thus: D+P+X=a single dogear is best.
