The Junior Club...

Thinking about the Pitbull kits logically, as I've never done anything like before, going all out first time would probably end up not so well. Attempting a Junior would likely have a much better chance of success. Cheers

The Rickenbastard was my first total kit build----- custom "aged metals" /.////vintage finish --- my goal was a 70's Rick that sat in a basement unloved for 40 years------ I think I nailed it --- thanks to some wiring wizardy by Drumoid--- it plays AWESOME and looks killer

Good to know that they can turn out so well. I'll shoot them an email tomorrow. Cheers

BUWAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Well you know-- it depends on the wood......also the tolex of the amp your playing it through --- some amps work better with dog ears in mahogany than soapbars in rosewood

Right, two thoughts:

Dug & Pat say: One dogear on the body just sounds better than a soapbar in the body.

Phil X says: the magnets on a neck pickup reduce string vibration and harmonics for the other pickup.

Thus: D+P+X=a single dogear is best.

IMG_7565.JPG I removed the Ken Anderson P90 from my Epiphone Junior last night very late. I put another all black with a black everything else except for red knobs. I have an old photo of it and it really looks better with the chrome pickup. I knew that all along but this expresses how I feel about art being dead.

Is not a dogear & soap bar the same pickup under the cover? If so, a soap bar's height is easily adjustable up or down, a dogear only up by shining, it would seem. On the subject of the neck pickup reducing string vibration, I think there may well be something to it. I know that in his quest for tone Malcolm Young removed the neck pickup of his old Gretsch & would stuff a sock into the pickup cavity to damp body vibration. Malcolm had a very good ear for tone. Cheers
