Stairway to Litigation

Also I need to sue Les Pauls Estate---for lost income wages and stress----most my life has been spent lusting after and spending $ on HIS CREATION -- and well its ruined me --- ruined me I say......

Absolutely. In fact, I think we all should initiate a class action lawsuit. After all, haven’t we all been misled? Didn’t each of us who bought a Les Paul do so with the expectation it would make us better guitar players?

Yet, we were no better after the purchase than before!

Someone’s gotta pay!!!

AGREED--- I dont sound a DAMN BIT like Les Paul---or Ace Frehley--- or ANgus young--- I think its GIBSON in GENERAL we need---er wait-- not-- they are broke--- better stick to the LEs's estate thing

Draw up the papers, lad. We got money to grub and cash cows to milk!

I coined the phrase GRIPTION in the 80's --- I have seen and heard it many times since -- I got not a single dime----

IF the High Shcool drafting teacher is still alive--- I am certain h can corroborate my tail-- because it PISSED HIM OFF-=---

my mechanical pencil lead would not stay in place in drafting class--- I was messing with the pencil -- NOT working on my drawing-- this anger the instructor-- (think his name was SMITH) anyway--- he asked "Mr Jones what are you messing with?" I replied "MY PENCIL HAS NO GRIPTION" --- he went on a tirade for 5 minutes on there being no such word and I was a slacker and was blaming the pencil --- tilll he came and TRIED to fix it --

His answer there was no "tension" left in the spring---

to which I said "exactly so it can grip -- meaning it HAS NO GRIPTION"

think I got 2 detentions for that --- which was o.k. because the detention teacher looked like a 35 year old Kim Karnes (this was the 80's ) -- man I liked them knee high heeled boots she wore............

wait who are we suing-?????

Led Zeppelin - the legend. Who are the other people? Just baby-goat'n.
Stealing people tunes, etc isn't cool - not to say I think anyone is or isn't in this case.
All I know is Led Zeppelin was/is one of the big reasons I got into guitar/music as much as I did when I was younger.
If they nicked one of my tunes I'd be like so cool, man, thanks, shaking hands with my right hand, while my left hand was grabbing hard a hold of the settlement check - lol and ;)
With no hard feelings either...
It'd be an honor if that makes sense...

You need to use it correctly...for example..."My '69 Charger R/T has no Gription in first gear..."

The Spirit recording may not be a blatant rip off, but there are many other Zeppelin songs that are.

They flat out stole other peoples music, specifically the old American Blues players and refused to
pay royalties or even give credit. They have relinquished and given credit on a few songs...

I love some Zeppelin music, but capitalizing on other peoples music without paying is wrong.

Well I guess these days it's harder to write an original song without it sounding like another song especially one that you haven't heard before. And another example are rap artists who take samples of other songs and use it in their own tune which I consider plagiarism unless the original artist gave approval or gets royalties. I noticed that these days most modern bands almost sound the same compared to the old days like the 1960's/70's where each band had their own unique song writing style. I think that has been lost now.

;>)/

Watch this and see why most music sucks today...the second one is long, but interesting...

THAT is a great video!

I really liked the analysis. Thanks for finding and posting that!

Another thing I notice...

“Taurus” uses ascending arpeggios. With the exception of the first chord, “Stairway” uses descending arpeggios.

You are very welcome.... :-)

before we go anywhere near them stealing other peoples music they
should be sued for subjecting people to Jimmy Page's live "guitar playing".
