One trick i always look for is the ABR-1 bridge mounts too. Ive noticed that damn near every Chibson has flat head screw adjusters ( sorta like Epiphone) while Gibson has the threaded small mounts with no screw adjusting. It stands out like a sore thumb right off the bat.

Yeah I seen where you pointed that out, which is awesome! That one gives it away to me every time lol my dad got burned on a Chibson Zakk Wylde Les Paul about 4 years ago at a pawnshop and i got educated real quick after that on the glaring mistakes.yup that’s in my short video, only takes 50 seconds to spot something dodgy ehh
The diamonds in the custom headstocks are wrongly spaced and smaller is another quick catch. Plus, i noticed a lot of the "customs" have rosewood-esque fretboards, never Ebony or Richlite. Though i have spotted a few with darkened blackish fretboards, but still not right.
