Spot a fake Gibson in 50 seconds

My uncle had a Fiat 124 Sport. He used to let me drive it around up in the mountains. It was my first experience driving an actual car after first learning to drive at age twelve, bombing around the fire roads on my Granddad's farm in a WWII surplus Willys Jeep. Happy memories.

thanks for the video.
that is something I fear as I would likely be buying used if ever.

Leeds, we didn't have the RD 250 here in Canada that I remember but I had a friend in high school with an RD 350. He used to wheelie it past the front of the school everyday at lunch hour! :ROFLMAO:

Leeds, if I am not mistaken, there were a (very) few models of bound neck LPs that indeed have fret over binding, and no nibs, from the factory. It may not necessarily be a give away to a fake Gibson. Other much smarter members than I can probably confirm or refute my claim!

I've been spotting fake Gibsons since the early 1980s, sometimes from the top deck of a bus going past a guitar shop. :)

And even the ones that did have nibs from the factory often didn't after a refret...
