Speculate here on what happened to LiveEvil2000

I agree! Country music these days is mostly cookie cutter crap, save for a few performers who still embrace old style country music.
Folks like Lucinda Williams, John Doe, and others keeping the flame alive are not even described as country. They're categorized as "Americana." They don't ebven mention Johnny Cash as being a country artist anymore.

I may be totally off base here, but I've noticed more than a few absences since the Battle of the Bands thread. To me, tensions were running high at times. It also occured to me the age differences here. What decade you grew up in generally dictated your taste in music. You have to admit, there are a lot of Boomers here, myself included. I miss those guys. They made me laugh and blew me away with their talent.
Agreed.
Firstly, why take any of it personally? That part I don't get.
Second, the decade you grew up in combined with musical styles generallh does dictate tastes IMO as well. Makes sense, you have a strong connection to the music you listened to the longest - ie - your first experiences. Of courwe, some variety and musical growth is inevitable, but generally speaking....

There are a few who seemed to have gone off grid.
