Some gig pics...

Still working on it. The slide bits are sooo hard.
Mike Bloomfield was a master of the blues guitar, and another who died way too early...
I doubt I'll sound like him even if I did get it down.
Besides, he used a Telecaster, not an SG. It might sound a little closer on my '61 SG Special - The P90s can get a little shrill like a lipstick pickup on a Tele...

Agree about Bloomfield. There are some cool vids on Stewmac.com of Dan Erlewine doing a bunch of work on Mike Bloomfield's Tele.

Yeah I was looking at them a couple of days back. Pity someone cut the top bout off the tele and turned it into a double cut. That would have done untold damage to the value. Although I think the fact that it is "The Bloomfield Tele" makes it priceless anyway.

I suck at singing. A cross between Barry White and Pee Wee Hermann would come close... ;)
When I used to go to church, or in music class at school, I was so embarrassed at my voice that I used to "mime"!

Fixing this now. First guitar I built over 25 years ago. My dad helped me. He knew nothing about guitars, but everything about tools and he had a shop full of them. Truss rod didn't work so I removed the fretboard and truss rod and am installing new. Pix in another thread:

Some more... Playing in a fancy club

AND in a smoky bar at 2 a.m.... The place used to be a 1940s export company office, now it's an underground pub. This was one of the gigs I liked best! A bit "CBGBish" :D

Wow, what SG was that??? Very cool! Aged cherry or brown?

Mid 60's SG custom stripped down to naked mahogany
with a black plastic plate where the middle pickup was.
I bought it used on Feb 1, 1969 and it is still my favorite.

WOW, more pics would be highly appreciated

The one in the middle.
I but a middle pickup back in because it looks better than the plastic plate
but it is strictly cosmetic. The guitar is wired like any 2 pickup SG.
Another thing, the tailpiece is closer to the bridge than normal.
All 3 guitars sound and feel different from each other.
(I should really get a junior to complete the set....)
(I should have kept that transitional Band Master head...)

(Those are NOS signature milk crates by the way, not reissues.)

Cool, I didn't know block inlays were around before 1973
