I tell you, I've played lots of different guitars in this VERY intense gigging musician journey and I NEVER played a guitar that could rival my black strat. I recently sold a '61 RI Gibson SG because I couldn't stand it. It was an awesome guitar, but I just didn't like it. My strat, though, I love with all my rocking heart and soul, even though it's a much harder guitar to play.
 
Congratulations Adrian! That's a nice looking Strat! Everyone needs a Stratocaster in their stable. I put 2 rubber gaskets under my volume knob on my Strats so the knob is hard to turn. Works for me. I love playing Stratocasters.
 
I really love Stratocaster guitars which is why I own about 9 of them & mostly Squiers and a MIM Fender Strat in Candy Apple Red along with my #1 Strat of all time my 1998 Fender American Std. Strat which I absolutely love since I bought it back in 2005 at a pawn shop called "Trader Joes". I've always dreamed of owning a genuine Stratocaster guitar since I was a teenager. This guitar fits the bill and I've bonded with it ever since I've bought it. I paid $1,100 with the taxes and it included a Fender hard shell case.

Sorry I'm late to this thread, but welcome back to the world of Strat eSGEe. Though I've most definitely become an LP guy I'll never be without a Strat. Judas beat me to the rubber gaskets or O rings under the volume knob suggestion (I have this on my Jackson soloist), which works well, but, if you can learn to actually use the volume control, along with the 5 way switch (pinky finger) it can make your Strat into one hell of an expressive guitar. Glad you got an SSS Strat. Congrats & enjoy. Cheers
 
I can confess -- I REALLY like this MIM-- and through the MESA clean channel---or EVEN the MARSHALL VS20 clean channel EARLY this morning noodle--- it is SO fun to play and so soulfull---

as I have stated the LEsters -- and the SG ----and of COURSE the Jackson -- are much more RIP SNORTIN --kick out the JAMS--RAWK!!!!! guitars---

this is more --- sip some whiskey and SLOOOOW down --- enjoy the ride -- not HURRY to the destination--
the Blueshawk is similar and the closest Gibson I have in "feel" to the Strat---the PEaveys are very Humbucker ish though the T-60 CAN achieve a "fenderish" tone--- its not the same---CLOSE --DAMN CLOSE-- but not the same---

The LEs Paul Recording is just an animal without compare it does and sounds and plays and FEELS in a class all its own----
