So this is where the Fender guys hang out eh?

Ok..the Les Paul Recording is an ENTIRELY different sort of matter.

Can’t really make a comparison there.

But, if you already feel more comfortable with the Stratocaster, then that’s a good sign.

Stratocasters will reject you straight-away if they don’t like you.

But, you can win them over by continual love and attention.

Its a tonal thing BOTH feel good-- the Lester requires a more precise hand-- it doesnt "diddle stinker" around you get the note right or it tells you --- its a joy to play with amazing action and tone -- but its very unforgiving-- it pays HUGE dividends in sonic pleasure ----the strat seems more -- HEy Daddy-O lets just Rock N Roll----

Hey.

The cork has been sniffed.

You can’t be backing me off of the Stratocaster cork, ‘cuz...well...’cuz you just can’t be doing that!

When I was playing Country, the Strat and Tele were the kings of that genre to be certain...I played with guys who were slinging original 1950's era Strat's and they worked out really well in that arena.

Let me say this...IMHO, a 25.5" scale is more tolerant of poor intonation than a 24.75' scale instrument. If you feel the LPR is less 'tolerant' as you have described, I would like to see the intonation on a strobe tuner...

My last Strat (sold a couple years ago):

full

It was a 1993 Custom Shop '61 Limited Edition, number 3 of 100.
Birdseye maple neck (that you can't see in the photo), burgundy mist, Abby pickups.
Best one I ever had by far, and a small part of me wishes I still had it, but there you go

Nice...very different...

Smitty--- the JACKSON SOLOIST is on a hook on the wall and the Strat is on the stand ....beside the MESA........that should tell you something ---

THOUGH I find I like it played through the LIL SEXY 5 watt Fender clone -- with a touch of reverb--- an thats all-- oh my how lovely

I can't welcome you enough, Adrian.

Oh, Strats. Fenders, in general... The most challenging of all electric guitars.

So far, I've owned/played several guitars, including what people call "Real Gibsons", and to my own ears and hands, NOTHING beats a Fender Stratocaster. Sold my SG and got a Rickenbacker 620 a while ago and... no no. Nothing beats my black strat.

To me, no other guitar sound "sings" more than a Strat's neck pickup. Give it proper amplification and volume, and you'll find that you won't be able to solo with anything else and be satisfied.

This, my friend, is a REAL DEAL guitar:

Congrats, the white ones are probably the most beautiful and classy! Especially as they age.

thanks guys---

well I am happy to be in the "club" -- thing is a JOY to play-- Sergio that is a lovely beast there.

Challenging?-- it seems LESS daunting to me (I may be a blind fool) than this....but perhaps the CHALLENGE is hidden within?

OR the Peavey twins (there are a TON of TONES in those knobs)

the Strat for me is a less complicated option --- Im truly enjoying its presence in the DOOM ROOM of BOOM

I will try and get some better more "Sergio-ish" classy pics this weekend ;)

I have NO intentions for MODS I like it as is--------though that new FLOYD thing Black posted a video of early is VERY intriguing

Oh, don't let yourself be fooled by first impressions.

Strats are MUCH less forgiving than any short scale guitar. Any one can make love to them, but making them come? hahaha much harder than with a Lester... But when you find the sweet spot... You want nothing else.

Hmmmm...

Sergio,
Scale --- and options-- (you saw the LPR' switches and knobs right? --- and the Scale of the PEavey Bass???) dont scare me-- I am LOVING the vibe of this particular strat--- and look forward to exploring her secrets for years to come ;)

I wasn't saying that you were or should be scared... I was just stating that strats are indeed less forgiving than les pauls, SGs or virtually any short scale, set neck guitar. It's their construction. But that's exactly what makes them unique

it is funny how very different they can be thought the sum of the parts is the same---
bolt maple neck-- triple single coil pups -- shape-- trem--- all ESSENTIALLY the same

yet I can tell you I have played no less than 20 of them in the last few months (and owned that many previously) and as stated in post one --- only 2 of them have spoken to me --
