Funny, I just got n email. Make that $ 32 shipping!gonna keep an eye on them fellers thats crazy cheap!
52.00 I can score an Epi or Squire local on CL or yard sales ............never mind
my shipping was about $30 from CA to NJ.
Still dirt cheap.
I got jack the jack (que AC/DC She's Got the Jack!), frets, control cavity hardware, nut, strap buttons there too.
I think the cavity covers come with it.
I have a set of Giovanni al5 pickups for it and strings and sourced the rest elsewhere.
i have to measure the bridge and tailpiece holes and spacing and I will probably get those from Musiclily.
It works out to about $125 or so total with the rest of the parts.
i mainly did this to have more build experience.
If all goes well i will end up with (another) a nice LP slab type for short dough.
Ray - for the WIN!!Yes, it works for me too because I have all the parts I need already. I would like a wide/Nashville bridge if anyone has one in a parts draw though - import is just fine
So anyway,
The desire to "create" a guitar is swelling again. Much of the reason that I get new guitars is to put a creative spin on the hardware and make them players. That said, the inability to part with them afterward is making the continued pursuit of this passion difficult. It is like a painter who cannot bear to sell his paintings. Soon you have a room, rather than a wall, of paintings, which is less good.
No solution reached or desired, just pontificating!
Don't be a poonanny...TURN IT UP!!!
