So anyway, 'member I couldn't play for most of november waiting for my fingers to heal? Got about five days and I'm right back in the same place.
Fingertips on my index/ middle fret hand bleeding with scabs that keep breakin. Tips swell up with inflamation, skin dries out, shrinks down, crack again. Back to inflamed, etc.
Repeat 'til you think you"re going MAD!
Laerned something though.
In my case it's a combo of two mega-stupid errors.
Here's the DIY recipe* to enjoy this for yourself in the comforts of your own home:
1. Play way too long while aggressively bending and vibing 'til your tips are nicely damaged/ inflamed.
2. When your fingers are already still somewhat shredded, why not smear a bunch of contact cement on your fingertips. Don't wipe it off right away. Even let it gas off, get nice and crusted on there for a few hours while you forget and tend to other stuff.
This will ensure you add the extra nasty element of nice chemical burns helping to maximize tissue / nerve damage (and pain).
Later on, try to pick the glue off by peeling nice chunks of it and your adhered skin off in the process. So stupid Awesome!!
But wait! There's more!
Now is the time you realize how dumb that whole waiting, burning and peeling thing was. Grab yourself a rag with acetone soaked in on it to dissolve the cement, (and what's left of your fingertips). The acetone will also massively dehydrate your fingers into some type of living rawhide, so it can quickly crusts up and crack again.
I eventually will respond to pain as a learning tool, I'm just a bit slower than most.
