Building materials are crazy & have been since 3 mths into lockdown. People started doing home improvement projects since they were stuck at home. Most of the companies we deal with have released updated pricing lists. Despite the outrageous cost of materials, business is booming for construction & development firms in my area.

Yeah we went to build the kiddos a swing playset with raw materials instead of a kit, as previously? It was way cheaper to do that. But now with materials being triple in price, it was actually cheaper to buy a full kit Gorilla Playset with everything you needed than pricing out parts and lumber individually.

Its insane right now

Yeah, I believe it! I doubt prices go down anytime soon. Our business has tripled. This summer will be beyond busy!

Yeah i can believe that. The price of copper is outrageous now too and we're getting hit pretty good there at work with wiring. That oddly enough though, is proportional to Gasoline prices. When gas goes up, copper does too because of the jacket insulation is made from the same initial processing plants. Its not the copper but the cheapass insulation lol

Copper has gone completely nuts. I’m getting wire quotes only good for 24 hours.

Gas took a big jump when Texas lost power. Coincidentally, so did the refineries.

We have had copper and osb stolen. It's crazy!

Totally believe it! Price is only as good as the second you buy it right now. No buying it next week or tomorrow.

Yep! This is all blow back from that deal. Every time a hurricane hits the Gulf Coast too, expect an increase because it disrupts the refineries

Yeah, that makes sense. I just found out that it's just like that in the RV industry too. 7 years ago I bought a Lance travel trailer (model 2285) MSRP around $35,000, but the sale price was $25,000. Today, a 2021 Lance 2285 travel trailer's MSRP is $55,000!!! The sale price...... drum roll please.... $55,000!
 
Copper will continue to climb.

Rv sales have gone way up due to covid, people are staying home and with borders closed etc they are buying travel trailers to hit the campgrounds, problem is now campgrounds were filling up fast, so many of them can't get in. People have been booking here as of February, The news reported anybody looking for a campsite is out of luck they are all booked up pretty much for the 2021 season.
