Actually, this Gibson is a Tele slayer. Those boomerang pickups are amazing. Two three pole pickups in the shape of a V, and are humbucking. A single coil, yet humbucker at the same time. It's a bit thin out of a big amp, but when plugged into a slightly underpowered amp like a Deluxe Reverb on a bigger stage and the volume cranked, it has a really viscous bite to the sound. Lots of treble and spank.

Now some would insist that mine's not a "real Telecaster" because she doesn't
have the distinctive Telecaster bridge p'up. Telecaster purists are a closed minded
bunch, to their detriment. And I don't care a fig. I never wanted a guitar that might
sound like someone else's guitar. I like to sound like me.

I just love this guitar. I've owned it since like 2009 or so, cain't recall
exactly. It's got a great sound all its own. Seems like my whole life has
been dedicated to the confounding of purists of all stripes. This guitar
helps with the mission.

For the record, I bought a second guard for this as you can see. I wanted one matte, not shiney. I did a nice steel whole job to make that happen. Also the purchased guard did not have the hole on both sides of the neck pickup. I had to drill out two. Came out great though ...even enough that I'm left with no OCD feelings about the work. That says a lot - if I don't like something minute ..even a solder joint, I'll carry it with me forever. Anyway, ...all good here.

Also, I've since added titanium saddles, even though that was a few years ago.
