I --- HAD TO GO-- (really I did) to Clearwater Fl today --- most folks hear that and say "Did you have lunch on the beach"? ---
NO --- of course not -- Im a guitarded-aholic---so-- I went to ............
Sam Ash CLearwater ----

which is TRULY A GLORIOUS MUSIC STORE ever one existed--

they had MANY nice things for me to rub junk and some rare -- and some LOW BALLERS--and SOME NEW products from Epi-phonie-cation ;)

that -- I went--- WHOA__ thats COOL!
this thing for instance BLURRING THE LINES even more --- bound neck --new headstock STAMPED serial # -- "Epiphone Deluxe" tuners---- P90!!!!!!!!! and big PG

1581111529979.png
THicker boy than say my SGJ ----or the Faded T -- its MORE in line with the 91 Sg-1 (which is a THICK body----but has sustain and tone for DAYS)

the FINISH was --- "rubbed" bare wood -- less protection on it than the Faded T! -- and TO BE FAIR the frets were nice but there was some stain from the body ON THE WHITE BIDNIGN OF THE NECK!!!!!!!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek: play authentic my ARSE!!! (lol) -- its set neck SG w/ P90's that feels good sounds good AND -- at 379.00 is STUPID CHEAP for new-- cant wait to scarf one upf ro 100.00 in a year or two ;)

the other model (again Epiphone ) that SHOCKED me and I went HEY that AINT TO SHABBY --- was this-- YES ITS A BOLT NECK -- but its 249.00 and has an arch top!!!
1581112056135.png

This had a THICK poly finish -- -totally opposite the SG -- this thing was HIGH and HI gloss ---arch top rosewood board nice neck-- 249.00

Personally Id score one of these ----first----- (I have seen them for 100.00 on craigslist and have owned a couple in the past--- Epi Les Paul 100) though the Korean made ones are going for STUPID HIGH money (250-350) on line--- go figure ----
again I have owned 2 ....er or 3--- they are AWESOME
1581112344570.png

you just have to get "past" the "bolt neck is crap" hang up so many people have ------ search an Epi LEster 100 out and try it--- its a STUDIO les paul (arch top et all) for WAAAAY less $$

there was a Jackson Dinky tht caught my eye as well......marketed as an "Oiled Finish"--- which must mean --- ABSOLUTELY NO FINISH----I mean it was like holding a 2x4 at Lowes---there is NO FINISH on this thing -- Im suprised they arent getting lawsuits for splinters!!!! --- that said----
of ALL THE ONES that caught my eye------ this was the one I had to FIGHT using my CC for----
it felt soooo good-- 2 point trem -- Jackson neck--- shark fin inlays---- I mean ----- ugh I have gas.......................
ANyone wanna buy something of mine so I can buy a DINKY ?!?!?! lol

Damn, the worn cherry SG pic isn't showing on my phone & the link is giving me the run-around too. All there other pics show though. That green SG does look nice, I'd say "do it" Mr Drumoid.
That Jackson Dinky though, at 200 bucks would be a great buy. If I didn't have Pro Soloist I'd be all over it. Cheers

I keep telling people, Epiphone really stepped up their game in recent years. hell my epiphone richie faulkner signature is my go to guitar. Jackson dinky... ok so the playability on it is awesome, cant speak much for the pickups because i yoinked them out and havn't seen them since replacing them. The other electronics however...you may want to upgrade asap. On mine, the pickup selector switch went out after about a week of playing so i had to get that replaced, it was an upgrade to what was there but they put stupid cheap electronics in the dinky. but that was my experience.

My G400 is 2010ish I picked up used. Chinese. Read lots of bad reviews on Chinese guitars. All I can say is maybe so.... but the quality on this thing is actually pretty good. Solid. Yes. The pots were junk and got replaced. CTS. The bridge was junk. Replaced with a TonePros. All my tuning and intonation problems went away. I have swapped out other things, but cosmetic reasons or simply because it was my guitar and I wanted to. Long and short. I like it.

Edit: The G400 is a 2007 I bought in 09. My Hagstrom Viking is the 2010. My bad.

Sweet! I may go out lookin for a greenie! Bummer about the fretwork on the one in the video.
it looks to have the same pickup spacing as my P90 Standard...I like that...the bridge can still be brash, but carries a little extra beef, which works well for me. :)

yes it was DIFFICULT to keep the CC in my wallet last week----the green is very nice-- the finish feels like worn blue jeans -- set neck-- P90's ---vintage style tuners--- it ticked ALL the boxes -- and I DONT OWN A GREEN GUITAR----(the horror)

will see how the taxes go this year --- if I dont get HAMMERED --- then one of these might need to be swamp bound---

The green is so ugly - what's wrong with you people??? :)

I've watched a couple of reviews, and it's nice to actually see the wood on the Classic - a good move by Epiphone; keep the cost down with a faded finish, but let folks actually see wood. The '61 is obviously ridiculous with that stupid veneer, spoiling a guitar which has so many good elements... The SG Special and Classic might be the highlights of the Epiphone ranges; the Pelham Blue with no veneer can probably get away with the poly goop that's put on to withstand a nuclear winter. I'm pretty sure both of them are better guitars than my Epi LP special. :(

RVA should put his ad in the local paper because they'll be lots of fret levelling and general initial maintenance with these Epis... Not complaining, at the price point they are very good value.
