SG LOVERS REJOICE!

Funny, I remember gassing for Gibby's and Fenders after NAMM.

Epiphone has done right as far I'm concerned, looking at the Jr., and that sweet, sweet SG with the tremolo. Haven't owned a SG for at least ten tears, bet that changes this year.

As far as the q.c. goes, nothing that's scaring me off, most of it is non-issues, or things that I'm capable of fixing.

Onward and upward Epihone!

have 2 epi's i should of never got rid of..my very first guitar SG faded with SD alnico 2's & Standard with 59/Phatcat

One out of five ain't bad. Just what I have seen and said from other complaints, well now you all are seeing it for yourselves. That should not be happening, there is no excuse for that. And where he talks about the $500 guitars , there's some other Brands out there in that price range are much better guitars and I can tell you some of them. You will never convince me that Gibsons are worth the money that they charge. For a Brand that boasts that they are the guitars to buy Hogwash, that's what I say. Shame on that company for putting out guitars that are like that.

Stop playing those Canadian guitars and get yourself a Gibson!

God Bless America... :)

Epis & Gibsons are pretty different. At $350, you expect some little issues, but Epiphones have improved weak areas such as bridges, nuts and tuners, so you're getting something decent - those new Epi SGs are nice at a low price. Next price point: $500-$800, I agree with you that there are a lot of options out there, and in Korea you can buy Korean made brands that are a lot better than Epiphones at these price points, but Epiphone does have some gems such as the 339s, the '56 Goldtop and a P90 black beauty (can't remember what they call it...), some of the Joe Bonamassa Epis are very nice and many more. Gibsons, a whole new story, you pay more, you get more, and I still say that despite all the irritations you get with a Gibson (more than other brands at the pricepoint I suspect) that a good Gibson is as good as it gets.

Back on track, this is a good buy for under $400, isn't it?

Sorry to bring LPs into this thread, but these fellas like the Epis a lot.

I find it kinda hard to believe they can neither smell the nitro nor feel the sticky Epi goop on the neck, but...

These are certainly very good Epiphone Les Pauls. If you go to a shop and find one with a good neck/frets and well set up then it seems like a nice guitar. When I'm in Seoul I'

I am giving serious thought to buying one of these to keep in my office. I have my old Yamaha acoustic in here now but would love to have an electric with my little Blackstar amp to mess with when I need a break.

i dont even care anymore...prefer a Gibson but have played it all..when you get that 1 or 21 guitars that just can play...all genres...hand doesn't fatigue..a guitar that makes you play & inspires that is all the matters...the competition & silly whose is best does not go on real world..studio & live on stages...we play...for the sheer love of music...once i got out of my own head & took everybody else out,,,freedom comes to be a player...and the music ,,,the passion for it shines thru...we play what we like and should believe in it....but maybe not compare except use & tone...what works for one doesn't for another..it's valentines day & this is what i wake up to see every morning..it's true love..love at first site & all that goodness...kt66...man if you are in between fender--a marshall...into these celestion g12c...Big america meets british mid punch..but clarity...i a/b so much...if jensen--celestion-weber-eminence had a love child..this be the loveVM br.jpg
