Yeah, broken Gibson=broken. Not worth it unless priced accordingly. If you must repair, you must not pay retail.
I got mine (all wood construction in tact...no hardware, other than pickguard, truss rod cover, and ground wire, shipped to my door) for well under what his lowest price was.
Granted there were pickups, bridge, tuners, pots, caps, and jack in the one you looked at...but if you’ve gotta re-fin, after injecting glue in to a fracture...well...$300 to $350 is all I’d have gone IF I liked the neck, and pickups...$400 if it felt like a dream, and I could envision a keeper when handling...and he threw in a case.
