Sexiest Tele Thread

Here is my 1952 AVRI Telecaster that I bought back in 2006 during Fender's 60th anniversary. It has the original 50's wiring in where position 1 is the bridge pickup, the middle position is neck only and the 3rd position is also neck only but with a real bassy sound. I found a way to use both pickups by carefully sliding the selector switch between position 1 (bridge) and the middle position for that quacky Tele sound. It's a great playing guitar with a beautiful grain (swamp ash) on the body. It's a keeper. No mods done on it because I like it the way it is. It even has a certificate of authencity.

I think photobucket is the biggest scam going on these days. My beautiful Tele has expired and we should file a class action lawsuit against them. Is anyone for this?

It's probably already in the works. Those of us who were using free accounts don't really have a leg to stand on. Those who were paying customers and who depended on Photobucket for images for things like online auctions and other business dealings have more standing.

However, if PB's ToS at the time didn't allow for commercial use of their hosting services (as would be the case with eBay auctions and other online businesses), then even those people may be out of luck.

I suppose I can put this in here, now - I think it's a tele...

It's bloody ugly though.

This bloody bastard geeter has been getting me gassing for a Fender, maybe a USA special or this Chris Shifflett model which is only $900 with a case, in gold...

I think I'm gonna head up to Seoul and play it...

Before i payed for such a service i would rent my own webspace (which i do have anyway...)

Why isn't it in this thread then???

I've been looking at 70s style deluxes with maple necks, like the Col's, and I'm really liking them.
I've had it for a couple of days. It sounds and plays as good as it looks. My only problem with it is I think I'll be too scared to take out of the house much. It is a work of art that I don't want to deface. First guitar I've owned that I feel that way. Usually I look at bumps and bruises as developing character.

It looks gorgeous, Kerry. & is that an SG faded in the background - that's a great couple of guitars you have there, and a nice tube amp with a decent sized cab to play them through - heaven.

Thanks. I've got two SGs, a Gibson 1991 Special and an Epiphone Limited Edition 50th Anniversary 1961 reissue.

Both very nice. The 1961 and 1966 reissues are my favourite Epis. &, everyone loves an SG special and a tele - yours looks really classy in an understated way with that binding affect around the top edges.

Kerry, I know you had neck issues with the 91. But can you refresh my memory does it have a rosewood or an ebony fretboard?
It's an ebony fret board on the Special. Touch wood the neck hasn't changed in a couple years so it is stable. It could use a touch more relief but it plays great as it is. It is my #1. It is the guitar I reach for when I need an old friend that I know won't let me down. I go through a lot of gear but I've never considered finding a new home for this one.
