Schecter Stiletto-6 FR

I used this at band practice today and came to a few conclusions:

1. The guitar is balanced very nicely and the new tremolo is very nice, and is brilliant for stuff like flutters
2. Tuning down to C standard and the heavier tremolo assembly have combined to give it more bottom end and sustain
3. I need to loosen the tremolo arm so that it swings away when I need to use palm muting
4. I'm not a fan of five-way switching, so I am glad that I am going to a 3-way on the new pickguard
5. These EMG-HZ pickups are too low output to work with the amp and pedal setup I currently have, so it will not be used live until the Black Hawks are installed.

Some components for stage 2 arrived today, the mini toggles and the switch tips. I have a spare of each. I giot a set of Grover502C Roto-Grips for my SG Special as well to make the postage from the USA worthwhile.

Besides the order from Bare Knuckle, which includes the pickups, capacitor, potentiometers, and 3-way switch (and hasn't been sent yet due to production backlog) I placed another order with Australian Luthiers Supplies (the shop I purchased the Gotoh knobs from) last night and ordered the following for this build:

Fender® Size Pickguard Screws - Set of 12 - Black
Treble Bleed Circuit
Switchcraft 1/4" Mono Jack
Nut & Washer for Jack or USA Pot - Black
Humbucker Pickup Height Screws - Set of 4 - Imperial Black
Gotoh JCB-2CK Oval Jack Plate Cosmo Black

I also got the following in the same order for my Explorer:

Gibson® Size Pickguard Screws - Set of 12 - Stainless

And one of these as the finishing touch for my Jazz bass (requires routing):

Gotoh BB-04 9 Volt Battery Box

Super neat stuff!!!!

Given the locations of the various pickguard components and the size of the cavity etc there seem to be two possible positions for fitting the mini toggle. Not sure which is best yet. The Jensen/BKP capacitor is a lot larger than stock so that will take up room in the same area. If possible I think we will try to put the spring of the CRL 3-way on the outside to free up some room on the other side

That's a tight squeeze

Yeah I am thinking that if I keep the action of the micro toggle parallel with that of the switch that will make any combination of those actions more fluid.

For example, if parallel engaged is toward the neck, then it might be possible to flick both on in one action. Or at least it would make my repertoire of hand movements less complicated.

No that was an extra charge. I mainly did it so that I wouldn't get it mixed up with the others. The Cold Sweat bridge is the only one I have with an etching

I just received email notification that my pickups have been built and my Bare Knuckle order dispatched. 4 week build time at present, I'm guessing in part due to the recent launch of their Boot Camp range and the fact that everyone was snowed-in for a bit. Now I will be watching the postal tracking online with anticipation! Too bad my scumbag boss sacked me in the interim when I took a couple of days off without pay after injuring my back ...

I like that engraving. Didn’t see that option when I order the Stormy Monday’s. What do they charge?

I might do that on the next set. Kinda classy.

And nice work on the guitar. A little router here a little router there and more stuff can be cramped in there (y)

Well it got on a plane to Melbourne yesterday. It is a public holiday today so I don't expect Australia Post to scan it until tomorrow. Now the REAL waiting begins ... Australia Post has been shite for the last few years unless you pay for Express Post
