Give me a few ideas here.

Looking for a reverb and delay.
Still looking to not break the bank since I’m building an Afford-a-Board. But these are two effects I don’t want to skimp on since I use them all the time.

There are so many choices out there.
I have a HoF and it is awesome, but I’m keeping with affordability.

Also, what are your thoughts on combo pedals that do both.

With a delay, you really need to ask what you are trying to accomplish and then pick from units that give you the capability you need. Do you need a delay that can give you precise subdivisions (i.e., quarter note, dotted-eighth, sixteenth note, etc.) and precise BPM settings and with tap-tempo? Do you need to select specific types of delay profiles? Do you want to be able to save presets? If these are the types of capabilities you need then you’re looking at a programmable digital delay. I use the TC Electronic ND-1 Nova Delay because it gives me these sorts of features. I really, really like it.

But, if you’re more looking for a general type of delay that allows for more relative settings and repeats, you can probably get away with something simpler.

So, the first question to ask is what need from the delay, then select according to your needed feature set.

I go analog and use this reverb. With the price of pedals these days I'll throw this in ....

VSR-3.2 Vintage Spring Reverb

As for reverb. No real suggestion. I have built in spring reverb on my amp. It works. I like it. Don’t feel the need for a pedal.

Delay. I have an MXR Carbon Copy. I like it for what I play. Then it died and I am sad. So round about. I’m in the market for a
New delay myself.

I like the Strymon El Capistan. It has both reverb and delay, and does a real good surf drip. But, it is probably not in the budget you were going for. So for just a good reasonably priced delay, I'd take the Boss DD-3. I used mine for years, and still think it's a good pedal. You can usually grab them used for not much money. I've also heard a lot of good stuff about the MXR Carbon Copy analog delay. Never tried it myself, but a couple of my friends have them.

I also vote for a multi effect unit. Get delay reverb etc for the same price.
I have a reverb and a few years back looked at the Boss DD-7. Got the Zoom G3 for less!!
I also have a baby Mooer reverb / delay combo but you cannot leave verb on and add delay, it's either / or both at once.
Once again, the little Zoom Multi stomp 50 works really well for just over $100 Cdn but it too is either / or both at once.
Zoom G1 four. About the same price.
