I have a Boss RV6 and it's a great reverb, but it's also $179.00 new...
Bummer that didn't work out. Crazy how Donner has a few pedals that are absolutely terrific (Noise Killer for example) and then these...I went with Donner for both pedals.
I was going to do a shootout video between Donner and TC Electronics, but to have a shootout both sides have to be armed. It wasn’t worth the time to make a video.
Instead here is a written review.
I tested the Donner reverb and delay.
The delay is ok, meaning it’s serviceable. It can give you a range from slap back to long lush sounding delays.
There are 7 modes and they all sound almost the same. A couple of them suck like the modulation in particular. That mod is unusable. It does some weird clicking sounding effect. It’s not a pleasant sound. I will be keeping it. For $30 it’s ok.
The reverb is being returned. It’s pretty terrible.
I can get a better reverb effect out of the delay pedal.
There are 7 modes and they all sound pretty bad. Makes everything sound like I’m playing inside a tin can, even with the tone set to its darkest setting.
Neither pedal can hold a candle to the Hall of Fame reverb and Flash Back delay I have on my main board.
I’m kinda stuck with the Donner Delay, but as I said it’s serviceable, so it will be added to my afford-a-board.
The Reverb I got on Amazon. So that’s an easy return.
If I were to rate the pedals from 1star to 5stars.
Donner Delay - 2.5 stars I gave it the extra 1/2 a star only because I can get a range out of it. But by no means are there 7 modes
Donner Reverb - 1 star it’s a terrible sounding reverb
