Whoa, you lifted it by the carb mounting bolts on the aluminum manifold.

there is a chain bolted to block running diagonal through the lifting plate. Have it down pretty good lately pulling engines. With trans attached it has to come out that angle. Very easy pull on this one

Thermactor,, a road block in you exhaust port that is holding back 25 hp..whole thing will be ground down & the ports opened more.. time to grind away. The valves, lifters, cam is all real nice. The cylinders still have factory cross hatch, will hone & re ring & gasket the whole engine. pretty strong to begin with. been on the cliff about heads & cam but since its only 91k 1owner car jus gonna make nice corner carver

the car is a 1 owner 91k orig miles. Have the oil change book the guy changed every 3-4000 miles since new. The whole engine is excellent. Cosshatch still in cylinders-no ridge..not 1 thing in pan on plug magnet. It rotates so smoothly. Just ordered rebuild kit, rings-bearings-gaskets. basically going to put it back to new except port the heads a bit.

degreased & back inside dried & seasoned with oil. very nice block, change that oil every 3-4k & ya get this.

all honed up -- clean again & paint the block,,heavy work load starts now for few days ,,assembly starting right after. Will nit pick at cleaning the bay & under car between calls all weekend

with 7.5 rear & t5 trans have to watch the launch. made a tough call to build it for daily & corner car,

Looking for a roller foxbody for winter. 460 going in f100 & the 351 in there is the one going to build in full out 1/4 car.

Ok, many days later, heads done, removing that thermactor giant bump takes some time. Really opened up the exhaust ports, Going to estimate 20% more flow, gasket matched intake & exhaust gaskets & mild port on intake side
My cam is split duration to help exhaust but now its freed up & especialy with header to muffler-dump no more smog & cats. Time to re clean & paint. Pulled 68 into its bay & now the focus is put this 302 together & being on the road by Sept 1

oh yeah built another sorta lean to situation extension back in June.

Couldn't wait lol, cam in, Hardest part was having the discipline to not install the Comp Cams 292h cam . Maybe in the 68 since it only has 4 speed, will have to run 4.10 rear for sure & screw in rocker studs & way stiffer springs
