Proco Rat build

If you flip it over it all makes sense, just think of it like a flow chart. Come to think of it mine's 40 years old might have to take out the Ana Teck in circuit ESR tester and see if there still within spec. Passed the ear test so no worries.
Yeah... if those old pedals with electrolytic caps haven't been used in a long time, those e-caps will dry out just like an amps filter e-caps if it doesn't get any use.

I have one of those Blue ESR meters, too. This is a very useful diagnostic tool to have... (y)

I've been looking at that on Ebait for a while now too but the curve tracer is a bit too dear for me too! been trying to find the lowest priced one but no days on that. If I find one I'll give ya a heads up so we don't bid against each other ,just in case! All the good stuff is priced too high but it's worth it if it serves it's purpose well and the pockets are deep

Well done Sysco, & nice playing. I'll need to give this a proper listen later. I did listen to it on my phone (without earbuds) while in the rattley old work truck & "think" I could hear a slight difference, though I'll need a better listen to be sure. I do know that on DIY FX forums the Motorola TO-99 (metal can) LM308 is considered an up-grade, though I've never done a comparison. ApparentIy the TO-99 chips were only used in the early prototype Proco Rats. I grabbed the NOS chips because two of them were only about 2 Aussie bucks dearer than an over the counter purchase of current production (Chinese) LM308's. Cheers

Nice playing Sysco!!
Thanks!

Silly me... I forgot to mention... I used the old lady, after not touching her for a long time... Yeah, I used my old '71 SG Standard, that has a set of Fralin PAF humbuckers for the demo. This guitar has always had a very embedded wooly-ness to its tone. What ya hear on the clean signal in the demo is pretty indicative of that wooly-ness that I'm trying to describe.
