Thanks Owegi!!!!

I posted in favorite amps, but here are my 2 low watt builds:
5F1 Champ w/5F2a tone and 3 postion voicing 4-5w,
5E3 Deluxe with switchable NFB and plans for the Rob Robinette Lead Channel and MV mods 12-14w.
They DO look like someone made them out of crap laying around the garage, cause they ARE, mostly.

Sweet... :yesway:

Hopefully I'll have another low powered amp to add to this thread later this year. Since I already have have had a positive experience with Allen Amps products, I'm seriously considering their Chihuahua 1x10 combo kit. Sort of a Blackface Champ with Treble and Bass controls. Allen Amps adds to the circuit a Mid/Raw control, that morphs the amp from BF to Tweedy. Also, Reverb with a 9" spring tank and a Master Volume. And... and... a 10 watt output tranny just in case I want to bump up the power from the 5 watt 6V6 to 10 watt 6L6 or EL34.
Dang... I just got myself all excited... I need to clean up... :hide:

I'm starting to get the parts together for my Marshall 18w build.
Its going to be a head with a multitap OT which will plug into one of the existing combo speakers.
I will be building a 12" speaker cab when I build the head cab. It will end up with a probably a british voiced 8Ω speaker.

Both amps early/mid 70s. Fender 5w Vibro-Champ and Traynor 20w YGM3.

I really like that early silver face VC.

Five watts rule! LOL

The 5 watts is nice. You can crank the amp and get some sweet tones going without killing your ears or disturbing the neighbors, but the Traynor still sounds was better. 20w into a single 12 vs 5w into an 8. No contest.

Those Traynor amps are excellent amps as well. I wish I knew back then what I know now. I remember seeing tweed champs being sold at reasonable prices even back in the early to late 70s in north Orange County SoCal. You would see these amps every once in a while at mom/pop stores, which we don't have here anymore.

Kinda cheating, as I foolishly sold it, but this was my 1-watt Randall - no, it's not only a metal amp! It does/did really good bluesy crunch and RnR at low volumes - evan at full volume it's less loud than a 10w ss, so you can crank it nicely.

Currently looking at getting a low watt tuber, maybe a cab and head; just in the process of seeing what's around. I'd love a VOX lil night train.

Very cool! I would love to try this one day. Then again, maybe that is not a Pandora's box I should open - I would probably never stop building them!

Can you play that at low volumes, JG? It's a 20-watter, and I'm worried I can't use it at home.

I might get one of these cabs for $130 if I can find a nice little head to go with it:

I believe the Celestion Ten 30 is the speaker inside my DSL5C. Not positive but I believe so.

Yes the Micro Terror is very house friendly. It has a Gain and a Volume so you can do the gain up volume down thing.Great cleans, great dirt.View attachment 4692

I tell ya goo, those SG's you have are right up my ally. A good SG is a hard guitar to beat. Sooner or later the stars will line up and I'll my very own Big-G-SG. I kind of want something in the lines of the worn brown or like the melody maker sg or the fusion. I wouldn't turn down a fancier one, but a standard or custom isn't my goal. With that, I'd like to say there are a whole lot of nice amps being posted in this thread. Congrats to their owners...
